Standards Self-Assessment

If your organisation provides services for children and young people, it is very important that you provide the opportunities for them to participate in the decision-making process, and enable them to 'have a voice and have a choice'.

The National Children and Young People's Participation Standards help organisations to measure and improve the quality of the process of children and young people's participation. By filling in a self-assessment form it can help you to ascertain how well your current participatory practice is doing against the National Children and Young People's Participation Standards for Wales.

This in turn will help you to:

  • Plan strategically
  • Be more accountable to children and young people
  • Provide evidence of the participation that is already happening in your organisation
  • Plan for improvement where there are gaps
  • Provide services which are more effective and efficient

Please note that members of the Participation Workers' Network for Wales can not use their PWNW login details to access the self assessment form and that they need to register for this separately.
