Kite-mark & Inspection
This section explains the process for completing a self-assessment and achieving a Kite-mark.
In order to assess the performance of services against the National Children and Young People’s Participation Standards, organisations will be required to do a self-assessment.
A Young Inspectors team may then be requested (depending on what stage the organisation has reached) to undertake an inspection of the service and in turn award a National Participation Kite-mark. Young people will attend a training programme as arranged by the Participation Unit and delivered in partnership with local service providers to prepare them for inspection visits to local services. This training provides the young people with a range of skills and knowledge required to undertake the task confidently and safely.
